COMING FALL of 2026 - Blue Mountain Escape - NC is a brand new mountain chalet-style home, tucked into a private development on Glade Mountain above the small town of Canton in the Western North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains.

If you are tired of city noise, traffic, and the constant pace of everyday life, this is where things slow down. Leave behind office cubicles, screens, and crowded streets, and arrive somewhere that feels completely different. Here, the loudest sounds are birds in the trees, the wind moving through the forest, and the occasional crunch of tires on a gravel road as a neighbor passes by.

At nearly 4,300' elevation, Blue Mountain Escape offers a natural escape where summer temperatures are typically 10-13°F cooler than Asheville and rarely exceed 83°F. This is a place designed for quiet mornings, slow afternoons, and peaceful evenings under open skies. Blue Mountain Escape is also a 35-minute drive from Asheville’s attractions, including the Biltmore Estate and the River Arts District. The nearest supermarket is in Canton, about 22 minutes away, along with local dining options.

During the day, step outside and breathe in the mountain air. Hike nearby trails, explore the Rough Creek watershed preserve with over ten miles of hiking and mountain biking access, or simply sit still and listen to the forest. In the evening, soak in the hot tub while taking in the surrounding views, or gather around the fire pit near a large, old oak tree. Watch sparks rise into the night air, and look up to see stars that are rarely visible in the city sky.

This is a place where you can truly unplug, or quietly plug in if you need to work remotely. With peaceful surroundings and dedicated work-friendly spaces, it is equally suited for focused productivity or complete rest. After a day outside, enjoy a cookout on the gas grill, then take a slow walk along the quiet gravel roads before settling in for the night.

About The Location

  • Access: Blue Mountain Escape is accessed via ~1.5 mi of private gravel road after leaving the paved county road. The 17mph speed limit is strictly enforced. The road is narrow in some spots. Please be mindful of other vehicles and be prepared to yield or pull to the side when needed.
  • During winter months (Nov. 1st - Mar 31st) and in inclement weather, a 4WD/AWD vehicle may be required. Please ensure your vehicle has sufficient clearance (SUV, truck, or raised sedan recommended). Low-clearance vehicles and non-AWD vehicles are not recommended.
  • Travel Insurance Recommended: Please consider travel insurance to protect your trip in case winter weather limits access to the home.
  • Blue Mountain Escape is located in a private community designed for peaceful enjoyment. The community enforces a strict noise ordinance between 10 PM and 8 AM. Disruptive behavior, speeding, reckless driving, or parties are not permitted. Violations may result in immediate termination of stay without refund.
  • No littering of any kind is allowed on the property or neighborhood roads. All trash must be bagged and placed in the outdoor container and secured to help prevent wildlife activity.
  • The property is surrounded by acres of forest within the Rough Creek Watershed preserve. Guests should expect to see wildlife including bears, deer, birds, foxes, raccoons, and various reptiles and insects. These are part of the natural environment and are not grounds for refunds or cancellations. Feeding wildlife is strictly prohibited.
  • Firewood is not provided. Guests wishing to use the fire pit should purchase firewood locally before arrival.
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi via fiber optic. Service quality and availability may vary due to the mountain setting.

IMPORTANT
  • This is a MOUNTAIN property. Guests should anticipate driving on MOUNTAIN roads. The last 1.5 miles are GRAVEL roads. 4WD or AWD vehicles and/or chains may be necessary during winter if there is snow or ice. Roads may not be suitable for low-riding vehicles - check with the Owners before booking.
  • Guest receives 100.00% if cancellation occurs at least 30 days before arrival; Guest receives 50.00% if cancellation occurs at least 14 days before arrival; No refunds within 14 days of arrival.
  • This house is child-friendly but is NOT child-proof. The property is NOT FENCED-IN, so children must be watched by a capable adult while outside.
  • This house does not offer daily cleaning services. You will be provided towels, linens, and a STARTER supply of soap, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags.
  • The house is in a wooded area that is still largely wilderness. Despite having a regular pest control program, it is possible to get 4-6-8 (or more) legged, crawling, or winged visitors both outside and inside. Please ensure that doors are kept closed at all times. Never leave food items in vehicles, and NEVER leave food, leftovers, or trash outside. All garbage should be bagged and locked in the bear-resistant containers provided.
  • Sightings of bears, deer, reptiles, birds, raccoons, and all kinds of insects and arachnids can be expected and are NOT grounds for cancellations or refunds. Feeding wildlife is strictly prohibited.
  • No refunds will be given for weather events, fear of driving on mountain roads, change of plans, or life events. Consider appropriate Travel insurance.
  • Third-party amenities, such as electricity/water, TV service, and internet, are beyond our control. In the event of service interruption beyond our control, Guests agree that they are not entitled to, nor will they seek, compensation of any kind, including partial or complete refunds for any such interruption.
  • WIFI: Complimentary Wi-Fi is available for your convenience. Log-in information can be found inside the house or via email. Please note that due to the house's rural mountain location, the owners cannot guarantee uninterrupted WIFI service and connection speed, and any interruptions in service do not warrant a refund.
  • This property is listed on various online platforms, each having its own distinct policies, terms, and conditions. The policies stated in the Rental Agreement will take precedence over any other policies mentioned in the booking site's listing that you may have utilized to book or inquire about this property.
  • Rates may vary across platforms and are subject to dynamic updates. Sales, discounts, and specials (if available) apply to new reservations exclusively.
  • NO SMOKING, NO PETS. NO OCCUPANCY ABOVE STATED LIMIT (6 total, with no more than 4 adults).
  • $300.00 Damage deposit is required. Will be reserved 2 days before arrival, and released no later than 5 days after departure, depending on the satisfactory post-departure inspection.
  • You must be at least 25 years old to make a reservation. You are required to sign the Rental Agreement and provide a valid photo ID within 48 hours of booking. Failure to do so will result in your reservation being canceled due to non-compliance with the rules.
  • Stays longer than 8 nights may require interim cleaning with an applicable cleaning fee.
  • Arrival instructions will be emailed 3 days before arrival; Access instructions will be emailed and texted 2 days before arrival.
  • Guests must inspect the house within 1 hour from check-in to ensure that everything is satisfactory and to contact the Owners in case of any questions, concerns, or issues. Any issue not reported upon arrival may be deemed the guests' responsibility. Guest concerns and/or complaints should be in writing by text or e-mail AND before departure, allowing the Owners sufficient time to document the issue and undertake reasonable corrections.
  • We ask that noise levels be kept to a minimum when using outdoor amenities between 10 PM and 8 AM. We hope that you create cherished memories during your stay at Blue Mountain Escape and treat this exceptional mountain house with the care and respect it deserves.

Cancellation Policy: One hundred percent (100.00%) of the total booking charges will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 30 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. Fifty percent (50.00%) of the total booking charges will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 14 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 14 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued.

The Rental Agreement for this property takes precedence over any policies, terms, and conditions listed on various online booking platforms. Rates are subject to change, and sales/discounts do not apply to existing reservations. You will see credit card transactions on your statement from 'BLUEMOUNTAINCABINS.COM'.
We are a couple who loves being "away from it all", the mountains, and the nature of East Tennessee and Western North Carolina. We are avid DIYers, and our cabin is our passion.
